DE STRUCTURA is a pan-European initiative that strives to create more opportunities for young people in the art sector.

DE PODCASTURA is our podcast.

Starting a career as a cultural professional, one usually faces a large number of obstacles. Low salaries, unpaid starting positions, closed professional network and low levels of opportunities on the local level are just some of them. These problems have been studied by researchers and are acknowledged by the European Union. But they still stand.

De Structura is here to facilitate change.

On DE PODCASTURA we talk to project partners, participants, experts and anyone else, who knows what it means to be a young aspiring professional in the fields of visual and performing arts.

Arts expanded: cross pollination between sectors - De Structura 2022 forum podcasts with The Wise Art Fool Podcast
In this episode of the podcast, Matthew Dols, Professor of Photography at the University of Maryland, artist and producer/host of the Wise Fool Art Podcast talked to Turkish designer Nur Horsanali and Catherin Schöberl, German mixed media artist, art educator and art theorist based in Switzerland.
Artists can partner with scientists to promote environmental justice and each other’s work. Feminist performers can join forces with human rights advocates to protect female minorities. Applying artistic methodologies can also create healthier work environments in multinational corporations. How should Europe further facilitate cross-sector collaboration with the arts to create more positive contributions?

Art world titans: the role and responsibility of well-established, highly regarded institutions - De Structura 2022 forum podcasts with The Wise Art Fool Podcast
In this episode of the podcast, Matthew Dols, Professor of Photography at the University of Maryland, artist and producer/host of the Wise Fool Art Podcast talked to Onur Kaymak, Turkish visual artist based in Belgium and Marta Marsicka, Polish curator, gallerist and art manager based in the UK.
Museums, art centres, theatres and the like establish and guard the institutionalised idea of what art is. These institutions are frequently immersed in rigid, maladaptive frameworks of public bureaucracies, and have opaque hiring and artist selection practices. What adjustments in the functioning of major European cultural institutions are required to support transparency, equal opportunity and fair distribution of resources in the arts?
