Hey It's Katie Q is creating a real and hopeful community supporting imperfect journeys to parenthood. Through the loss of my daughter Sylvia, born sleeping at 18 weeks, my husband and I have traveled our grief journey, meeting many people along the way who have walked down roads less traveled. Our loss has opened our eyes to all of the less traditional journeys to parenthood, and I'm creating a safe and hopeful space to meet others who have walked these roads.

Infertility, Miscarriages and Pregnancy with Megan Frank

Today we’ll be talking to Megan Frank about her journey to parenthood. Megan lives in Minnesota and is a Senior Buyer for Target Corporate. Megan and her husband Matt began their journey to parenthood back in 2015, shortly after realizing that they might need to turn to science to help begin their family. After a few rounds of medicated treatments with timed intercourse, finding an infertility clinic, invasive testing, being diagnosed with PCOS, 2 rounds of IUI, and one round of IVF, an OHSS diagnosis (ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome) + 2 hospital visits, a pause for some healing, and a frozen embryo transfer, they became pregnant with their first baby, Juliette, who was born via emergency c-section in July of 2017. In 2018, they knew they wanted to expand their family using their additional frozen embryos. After a frozen embryo transfer, a miscarriage at 11 weeks, 2 D&C’s, additional testing, a 2nd frozen embryo transfer, a 2nd miscarriage, a 3rd frozen embryo transfer, a 3rd miscarriage, a change of IVF clinics another round of IVF retrieval, and a 4th embryo transfer, they became pregnant with their baby Kennedy.

    Hey It's Katie Q Trailer

    Hey It's Katie Q Trailer

My name is Katie, and I am the person behind “Hey It’s Katie Q”. My husband Adam and I lost our baby girl, Sylvia Katherine when she was born at 18 weeks, 1 day. Sylvia was and will always be our first baby. Although she isn’t here on Earth with us in the physical form, she will always be here with us spiritually. We can always feel her presence and know she’s watching over us from Heaven.

I am starting this podcast, “Hey It’s Katie Q” as a real and hopeful community, supporting imperfect journeys to parenthood. I want to hear your stories. Pregnancy and parenthood can be emotionally and physically challenging, with millions of curveballs thrown your way. The path isn’t linear. I am creating a community that supports all of those paths, opens up the conversation, and shifts expectations of this journey. I also want to provide a community of hope. I want you to know that if you have experienced pain or grief, you are also allowed to feel joy.

My name is Katie Quade, and I’m here to share my story with you and learn all about yours. I look forward to connecting with you. Visit www.heyitskatieq.com to connect.
