Episode 5 Mk. II - Spoiler Warning: Magic the Gideoning!

Episode 5 Mk. II - Spoiler Warning: Magic the Gideoning!

Amonkhet Spoiler Season has come in with full force, but sadly, the set seems to be a bit of a swing and a miss so far. While there are a few interesting and potentially powerful cards in there, the set as a whole seems somewhat bland despite the amazing flavour possibilities and artwork. Besides that, we have a big announcement regarding this Podcast's schedule: Rather than recording one every week, we're going to record new episodes when there's something to talk about, be it a new Standard format, Limited strategies, Spoilers, general MTG news, or something else we really want to talk about. Episode 4 Mk. II - Careful Study: Magic the Gideoning?

Episode 4 Mk. II - Careful Study: Magic the Gideoning?

Since nothing's really been going on in the world of Magic, we decided to do something a bit experimental: This week's episode is a long-winded discussion about Planeswalkers. Are they good for Magic? Are current Planeswalkers well-designed? How have Planeswalkers changed MTG Storytelling? These are some of the things we'll be talking about. Episode 3 Mk. II - From Dusk Till Dawn

Episode 3 Mk. II - From Dusk Till Dawn

We're back after a short sick leave with what looks to be the first (inofficially) spoiled card from Amonkhet, and it looks super exciting! The card in question is Dusk//Dawn, and it's somewhat similar to the Fuse cards in the sense that it has two spells on one card. But that's where the similarities end: The Consequence mechanic makes it so one half of the card can only be cast from your graveyard. Interesting, isn't it? Furthermore, we're bringing you two new and updated Standard Decks that tackle the current Mardu Metagame in a very interesting way. Episode 2 Mk. II - We're doing Modern now?

Episode 2 Mk. II - We're doing Modern now?

To answer the title question: Well, uh... kinda? Since at least one of our hosts follows Modern and Modern Masters 2017 is the new hotness in town, we took it upon ourselves to take a closer look at these Spoilers. If there's one thing to be said about this set right off the bat: These reprints are incredible! A lot of people were down on MM3, but after this first handful of Spoilers, these things will probably be flying off the shelves. After that, we're going back to Standard, where Mardu Ballista has been tearing it up at GP Utrecht. Episode 1 Mk. II - Standard: A Comedy of Errors?

Episode 1 Mk. II - Standard: A Comedy of Errors?

So, yeah. We're doing English now. Hurray! To mark this new beginning of sorts, we are resetting our episode count and starting anew. And while we're not exactly pack fresh anymore when it comes to podcasting, this is definitely a new experience for us. Alright, let's talk Shop(s): This week, we are bringing you a whole bunch of Standard talk. Why was Mardu Vehicles so dominant at Pro Tour Aether Revolt, and why haven't we seen it all that much after the Pro Tour? We're also taking a close look at a deck that's been putting up very good results against the Vehicle Menace: UR Emerge.
