Curious Shashu-Episode-13- How is sea water and river water made fit for consumption?
Shashu grew very curious about water purification before it reaches our homes for consumption, after I told him that during our childhood, we used to drink rain water directly and that how I miss doing that now, due to the impurities present in air. Sea water is desalinated to remove salt and other unwanted minerals which are considered unfit for drinking and then in commercial purifiers, they are purified and made fit for consumption. Though rain water is stored, it can't be used for drinking directly but needs to be purified first and then only consumed .

Curious Shashu-Episode-11-What's the water that comes out of the AC vent?
Shashi wanted to know about the water which gets expelled from the AC vent, while the AC is running. The work of an AC is to lower the temperature of the room, so the process is simple, when the temperature drops, the humidity, of the air is cooled and water is expelled, just like after boiled water is cooled, it leaves off water droplets in the lid, AC, after cooling the room, expels the hot air in the form of water.

Curious Shashu- Episode 10- How to make furniture from wood.
Shashu dearest got curious on the process of converting wood to furniture. When the tree is cut, it's no longer a tree, but is called a log. This is left to dry well till it's fit to be called timber. Later, the timber is milled, ie it is roughly cut and then the timber is sawed,ie cutting into desired shapes and sizes, levelled, where the uneven surfaces are smoothened and then the desired furniture is cut and assembled with the appropriate tools.

Curious Shashu-Episode-9- Do bees sleep?
A lot of honey bees were buzzing around our garden and Shashu was observing them work tirelessly. He thus came up with his next question, Do bees ever sleep ma? Bees do take a break and sleep. There are three types of bees, namely, the Queen bee, forager bees( older ones) and young workers which majorly take care of the cleaning of the bee hive. The last members of the bee hive sleep by taking short breaks in the daytime, while the older forager bees take a nap during the night.
