Description: The making of the golden calf is sandwiched in the middle of the record of the building of the Tabernacle. Turning to idolatry is typical of human behaviour in all ages. The command to build the Tabernacle for pure worship was diametrically opposite to the philosophy of calf building for the worship of the lesser Egyptian god Ptah. This apostasy parallels that of invention of “another Jesus” in the form of a Triune God, a different Gospel to the original.

God preserved a remnant when the wicked of Judah, and of Sodom, were destroyed. His mercy is praised in both Testaments. We must forgive personal offenses, for God to forgive our sins. The New Testament reveals God's glory in the person of Jesus Christ. His obedience was rewarded with eternal life, which we also can receive through faith. The mercy of Jesus sets us an example in how to treat our brethren.

So many to choose from
Wow, huge resource and thousands of talks to choose from. Not enough time in the day to listen! Makes a huge difference for me to listen whilst driving or out working in the garden or shed.
And if I may say, how sad I am about what Nomebee describes their experience was around the word of God as a child. I can see how one would get embittered by such an experience, so very sad. Family time around the word should be a safe place. I’m sending love.
Flashbacks of being beaten by my dad
Takes me right back to being forced to do the christadelphian bible readings everyday as a child and being beaten by my dad for ‘not sitting still’, ‘not keeping my finger on the verse’, ‘losing my place’. Suffer the little children indeed.
