Spark My Relationship is designed to infuse your life and relationship with fresh passion, skills and wisdom. This self-paced journey is perfect for turning up the heat, having some fun together and revolutionizing your intimacy and communication.
We’ve collaborated with 15 psychologists and therapists to create a comprehensive relationship course that not only teaches you the skills needed to create a successful and lasting relationship, but the tools to execute it.
In this episode, we interview Dr. Debra Campbell about four important ways to keep the spark alive in our relationship. What Dr. Deb teaches us in this episode is just a glimpse of what is covered in the course. 🙂
Dr. Deb recommends some helpful and practical exercises to help our relationships improve in general happiness and in the bedroom. Here are just a couple of our favorites from the episode:
Look at your everyday life with your partner, outside of the bedroom, as foreplay.
This allows you to see, from a different perspective, how everything you do and say can help to build up to your next erotic connection with your partner. For example, if you are criticizing your partner during the day, they aren’t going to be easily turned on in the evening. This helps to keep your attention on making your partner feel good and can lead to better sex.
Figure out what turns you on.
By finding out what helps you transition into feeling intimate, you can talk to your partner and plan to make your next connection more pleasurable. This could be taking a bath, playing certain music – you could even make a special playlist, or setting your bedroom up with luxurious sheets and good lighting to help you get in the mood.
In this episode we also discuss relationship advice topics that include:
The importance of eliminating unhelpful old habits that can lead to friction and unhappiness
Healthy and successful communication tools
The biggest struggles couples have when reigniting their sex life, plus tips to spice things up
The importance of mindfulness to improve stress management
Why having shared dreams and desires can be so beneficial for celebrating our “couple culture” now and in the future.
And much more!

Be more transparent
The title should include ‘with religion’ so that people who are not interested can make an informed choice whether to listen or not. It also should include ‘with 4-5 advertisements’. This is the first podcast I’ve listened to that incudes ads. Yes, people need to earn a quid but it also reflects on motivation behind the podcasts.
Puts the AD in ADvice :/
I understand podcasters rely on commercial sponsorship, but after 15mins of a bedroom intimacy episode, the majority of my time had been spent listening to the hosts lengthy chat back and forth about the perfect mattress quiz (from a partner sponsor) - and I switched off.
A pity, since the part before the ad was actually quite good.
