    Claiborne is the author of Irresistible Revolution, more recently Beating Guns and several other books. He's a founding member at the Simple Way and co-founder of Red Letter Christians. Shane is a renowned social activist, advocating for nonviolence and service to the poor.

    Soong Chan Rah is an ordained pastor in the Evangelical Covenant Church, and a member of the Academy for Evangelism in Theological Education, American Academy of Religion, and American Society of Missiology. He has spoken widely on the topics of the witness of the church, cross-cultural ministry, and social justice at academic conferences, seminaries, Christian colleges, local churches, denominational gatherings, and ministry conferences on both the domestic and global level.

    In the leadup to Surrender Festival 2024, we're throwing back to some memorable Surrender moments from the past. Episode 1 kicks us off off with Ash Barker in 2006, inviting us on "the call to wild adventures".

    Surrender emerged out of UNOH’s work with a desire to include the wider church in a grace based invitation to the call of Jesus to follow him to the margins. 

    So many people have been responsible for its impact, some of them have been on this this podcast in previous seasons. One of those at the heart of it was Ash Barker. Local community leadership developer, shalom activist, speaker, author, minister; now living in Winson Green UK leading seedbeds.
