Episode 6 - WTF, you can’t visualise?‪!‬ Thaaat Art Podcast

    • Visual Arts

Well it’s been a hot minute but were back. We recorded this one before our unexpected hiatus due to uni and life commitments. It’s taken us a bit (well maybe more than a bit) longer to get it to you guys but here it is.

This week we discuss the ability to visualise and the inability to visualise, also know as Aphantasia. Don’t be surprised if you’ve never heard that term before. We will fill you in!

Peta has Aphantasia and Avanthi sits at the other end of the spectrum as someone who can hypervisualise. This is such an interesting topic and we only cover aspects of Aphantasia that relate to being creative.

After listening to this you might be able to relate! Aphantasia can make you feel pretty low, especially as an artist so if you’re feeling a bit overwhelmed by it, please reach out. Especially to Peta. She is finally finding her feet through this.

Through this episode we mention the Aphantasia network, a supportive community of other people who also have Aphantasia. You can find them on Instagram here

This might just be the first of many around this topic as Aphantasia can be experienced to various degrees. If you want to let us know your thoughts on this, feel free to reach out!

Thanks for listening everyone :)
