Customer Reviews
Five stars for the month of August
Hi game of owns! Thanks for putting out such a high quality ASOIAF/GOT podcast. You manage to incorporate both knowledge and comedy perfectly and I am constantly laughing while listening to you! I have been listening for over a year and want to go back and listen to previous episodes (especially the chapter reviews) so looking forward to the "on season" for that! Thanks for making me feel such a part of this community, much love (2k17) xx
Thoughts, Feelings, and What Could That Be
Game of Owns used to be one of my favourite podcasts. The operative words here are “used to be” - the past two seasons have seen a downturn in the quality of the episode commentary.
I understand that perhaps that is due to the changed format - where once Zack, Eric, Micah and Hannah ran the tables, now it’s a discussion between just Zack and Hannah.
Let me first just say that this review is NOT a condemnation of Zack and Hannah as hosts - not at all - rather a drop in quality with the departure of Eric and Micah. Four heads used to be better than two, with four super fans all willing to discuss wild fan theories and ties to the wildly popular A Song of Ice and Fire series.
There are several phrases which keep popping up on this podcast:
“...just wondering what your thoughts and feelings were on that event/character/thing”
“...what could that be/look like?”
“We have to talk about this!”
I think this is somewhat reductive discussion. Could I do better? Probably not, but for now, this form of discussion can be a bit boring. Perhaps once we know the whole story of Game of Thrones, a rewatch series might be worth a look in, investigating the various setting up of storylines and character development.
If you’re looking for the glory days stuff, the earlier seasons are a great listen for the podcast at the height of its power.
Rubbish
All they do is carry on about what is wrong with GOT. The newest ep was complaining from start to finish.
