Twenty-five years have passed since a peaceful Tasmanian seaside community was shattered by the brutal murder of a young Italian tourist on one of its remote and beautiful beaches. Still to this day, no-one has ever been charged with the murder of Victoria Cafasso. But Victoria’s death wasn’t the first disturbing event along that picturesque coastline — young German tourist Nancy Grunwaldt had disappeared from the same area two years earlier. With the anniversary of Victoria’s death, the Mercury revisits these two mysteries to find out what the police detectives and the locals think happened — and if they’ll ever be able to put these ghosts to rest.

Audio quality is poor

The difference in volume from the narrator and guests is frustrating, you’re constantly adjusting your volume. The eps are short which I don’t mind, but would have been helpful to provide some background of the actual incidents at the beginning before launching in. We had to search this as ourselves

Episodes are too short.

Four episodes with 8 advertisement and the producers of this podcast haven’t provided the amount of reporting you’d typically see in one episode of the many weekly true crime podcasts. I can’t comment on the quality of the journalism as the advertising and length of episodes make it hard to listen past the first episode or two. This format doesn’t work if you don’t invest in long-form journalism.

Terrible quality

If you are going to make a podcast, please ensure the audio quality is at least decent... very difficult to listen to as terrible quality...
