Every other Friday, Doug McCambridge and Jamie Lorello discuss a film from the 1980s. Some are films we haven't seen since we were kids and offer a fresh perspective. Others are films we've never seen before but probably should have. Do they hold up? Are they classics? Or would these films just be better off having been lost to time?

Since first recording this episode the only update we have is that Jamie met Elisabeth Shue fully clothed in an airport bathroom and there were no primates in sight. In the latest episode, Doug reveals that while he still doesn't enjoy apes in film, he feels much more comfortable when they're wearing clothes, and Jamie becomes frustrated (as all should) with Link's refusal to respect personal space boundaries. A movie with many questions, relatively no answers and a baffling score. 239: Going Bananas (1987)

On our latest episode, Doug gets such joy when describing a muscular gymnast attempting to choke out a child dressed as a clown, Jamie attempts to blow the listeners' minds by revealing that the monkey was a man in a suit, and we both are quite confused as to what exactly Jimmy Walker is trying to do in this movie. Be on the lookout for scorpions, encourage an animal revolt at your local zoo, and join us as we discuss a movie that may have been nothing more than a shared fever dream called, Going Bananas!Visit our YouTube ChannelMerch on TeePublic Follow us on TwitterFollow on InstagramFind us on FacebookVisit our Website

We kick off 'Ape-ril' by digging back into Patreon and releasing an episode we covered for supporters only back in October 2021.On our latest episode, Jamie doesn't think this helper monkey/owner kiss was consensual, Doug gets such enjoyment over a man thrashing a monkey puppet like a dog with a chew toy, and we both agree that this poor guy just 'loved his legs'. On our episode, Jamie is just delighted to sit and watch a comedic romp where the monsters look like cuddly puppets, Doug forgets the show 'Growing Pains' because of getting high off of nutmeg, and we have a lengthy discussions about the cots and benefits of an electric can opener. 235: Tough Guys Don't Dance (1987)

On our episode, Doug tries to describe the sound of a penis flopping out of pants, Jamie describes this film through cake and sandwich metaphors (both of which make less sense than the film itself), and we struggle to come to terms with our feelings on this film. Set up for a seance with your driver, don't make your cancer-ridden elderly father do your dirty work, and join us as we examine one of the heads on the Mount Rushmore of bad movies with Tough Guys Don't Dance!Visit our YouTube ChannelMerch on TeePublic Follow us on TwitterFollow on InstagramFind us on FacebookVisit our Website

Great Times! With Intentionally Not So Good Movies...

Every fortnight Douglas and Jamie have a fun and lively conversation about a 1980s film title... The worse the film, the better it seems. The rapport between the co-hosts is excellent and the conversation flows naturally and often hilariously. To some degree it may help a little to have seen the film they are discussing each week, but I've greatly enjoyed the two episodes to date on films I haven't actually got around to seeing yet and they provide enough context and humour to make the podcast almost certainly better than the film they're discussing.
