Season 3 Episode 2 : "Tell us you're a high value man without telling us you're a high value man"

S3E2: If you’ve been active on social media over the last year, you’ve probably seen or heard the term “high value man (or woman)” a thousand times. You’ve probably also seen a few snippets of Kevin Samuels, a self proclaimed “high value man,” denigrating women that contact him for what he considers to be poor life choices. It’s time that we explore what this actually means. In today’s episode, we discuss the concept of high value humans and break down use of this term in society and social media today. As always, we absolutely want to know your thoughts! What does it mean to be of “high value?” How does the definition differ for men and women? How do these kinds of categories affect our day to day lives? Head to our IG @inprogress_pod & let us know!

Safe and Social : A Discussion About Online Safety

Safe and Social : A Discussion About Online Safety

In this episode, hosts Christine and Emily discuss online safety.
As adults, we don’t often discuss how to stay safe while interacting with others online, but we know that online predators exist too. Unfortunately, there are people whose sole goal is to stalk unknowing victims online, then inflict violence in person. Hackers also utilize public information to target and attack strangers. Nowadays, people can have access to our personal information with a super simple Google search—- which is actually quite scary. Some people even post their every move and travel plan on their social media accounts in real time, without thinking about who can access that info or even what they can do with that information. Also, many widely used apps track our online behavior and interactions and either recommend our pages to strangers, or show us certain ads, images, etc. In other words, our information is constantly shared and constantly consumed. It’s up to us to protect ourselves and we wanted to bring more awareness to these issues.
As always, thanks for listening! Please be sure to share your thoughts on our IG page: inprogress_pod
We would especially love to know if you have additional online safety tips.

    The Mid-Season Check-In

    The Mid-Season Check-In

I know that last time we said we’d be consistent….. and weren’t, but that’s changing! Today’s episode is a mid-season check-in. How are y’all doing? The pandy is still here, but as a result of vaccines and declining rates of COVID and COVID hospitalizations, slowly but surely, the world is opening back up. In addition to changes around pandy precautions, the Cicadas are back in full force, after 17 years! So that’s been—- fun. Throughout this episode, we discuss some of the long-term effects of the pandy on our lives as well, with a specific focus on human behavior and youth. As always, we’d love to see your responses to the points made during this episode. Be sure to let us know via IG @inprogress_pod! Thanks for listening!
