I’ve been a regular listener for years now, and usually appreciate your takes on current pop culture headlines. However, the segments on the lively v baldoni case are absolutely biased, one sided and omit important facts. Giving one sided coverage on such a big, pivotal case which embodies truely important themes to favour the female protagonist isn’t feminism- it actually does more harm and leads into the stereotype that women think they can do no wrong. Not saying Justin is correct either but the omission of key details in your text message segment in particular was absolutely hard to listen to.
I am the biggest swiftie and have been since 2007, however I can appreciate the huge mis step and lapse of judgement Taylor in particular made in those texts. Likewise I watched GG at it peak and was a huge fan of Blake but to say that the things she has said and done are justified without even presenting the whole case and context…isn’t it. It’s not a case of “slay- I would do this for my friend!” The facts demonstrate calculating, bullying behaviour and a huge imbalance of power in BL favour using her connections to garner even more power over a movie she should have just been an actress in- this was pre production by the way. Way before any SH claims started to surface. Given this is an ongoing lawsuit I would hope that coverage would be balanced and true, be so for real. You have such a big platform, please present facts as facts and opinion as that. I fear I’m outgrowing the podcast rapidly or will have to skip bigger/ deeper pop culture segments.
Edited to add: and saying that people who disagree with your presentation of “fact” are low IQ or bots and encouraging your followers to think this way is absolutely foul. I’m neither, but I can read court documents and dockets and come to my own understanding. BL is wrong. JB is also wrong. But your presentation and platforming a one sided view omitting important fact is so irresponsible and cannot be seen as legitimate journalism “for smart people who like dumb stuff”. Do better.
