    Hiya friends!

Today on the show, we bring you the powerhouse that is Alyce Tran. For the unacquainted, Alyce is an entrepreneur to be reckoned with. IN CONVERSATION: Samantha Wills

    IN CONVERSATION: Samantha Wills

Goooood morning, everyone! HAPPY LAST DAY OF 2020!

Today on the show, we bring you the formidable Samantha Wills. You likely know Samantha's name from her eponymous jewelry line, Samantha Wills. Back in 2004, Sam decided to invest her last $500 to showcase her jewelry - jewelry she was then selling at the Bondi markets at Australian Fashion Week. People fell in love, and very soon, she was overwhelmed with orders. Three years in though - despite boasting a successful and very popular business - Sam found herself $70,000 in debt. So, how did she turn it all around? And why did she decide to close, rather than sell, a 10 million dollar business?

In this chat, we go everywhere, from burnout to chronic illness to broken relationships to business.

For more from Samantha, follow her on Instagram @samanthawills. If you enjoyed this episode, may we also recommend you listen to our In Conversation chats with Kylie Brown and Michelle Battersby.

    BOOK CLUB: Transcendent Kingdom

    BOOK CLUB: Transcendent Kingdom

OHHH, it's the last book club for 2020, friends!

This month, we read Transcendent Kingdom by Yaa Gyasi - a novel that centres around Gifty, a neuroscientist at Stanford who studies addiction and depression neural circuits through experimenting with mice. This, we come to learn, is no coincidence. Transcendent Kingdom deals with grief, mental illness, and religion, and also takes us back through Gifty's life: From her brother's opioid addiction to a disappearing father to being sent to Ghana to live with her Aunt while her mother battles depression at home.

Transcendent Kingdom was a NYT bestseller and is Yaa Jessie's second published work. Mich sat down for an interview with Yaa about her novel, which we will play in the second half of this episode.

Thank you so much to today's sponsor, Penguin Books Australia and The Push by Audrey Audrain. Head here to buy a copy.

Grab yourself a copy of 'Daisy Jones and The Six' and join our convo next month! We'd love to have you! Head here to purchase it.

AngelaJGB ,

Thanks!

I love listening to Shameless, thank you Zara, Michelle, and the team!

A laughing stock!

The two girls who run this podcast are so pitifully uneducated, sanctimonious and deluded about their self-worth, it’s actually pretty hilarious! 😂 I’m amazed that they think they’re propagating ‘nuanced, meaningful’ conversations when they are literally scraping the BOTTOM of the entertainment/news world barrel, in a bid to easily appeal to the lowest common denominator in intellect and cognitive capability; aka, their own breed! 😄 Nothing more than two incredibly bland, mediocre looking, mediocre in intellect basics who have such a pathetically limited worldview it makes you painfully cringe to hear them utter a single sentence (which is guaranteed to always be void of any actual journalistic merit). I actually really feel sorry for them and for their ‘loyal’ listeners. I have no idea what it would be like to be that insipid and satisfied with my own stupidity, but I am sure it must be nice! This is the perfect podcast for insecure basic white girls like the hosts who are brainless enough to spend all their time endlessly scrolling through Instagram stalking the lives of social media ‘celebrities’ and deeming the content worthy of a self proclaimed ‘nuanced discussion’ 😂😂😂 - hilarious! You poor poor things, please I’m begging you, get it together! x

u need the weekends gurlz ,
