Great podcast!
I’ve never considered myself a film buff but I have listened to almost every episode of this podcast and some of the Patreon episodes. The analysis gives me a deeper insight into the media that I didn’t have before and makes me appreciate them in new ways. Especially love the Captain America episodes because I am overinvested in that franchise.
Not Just the Basic Stuff
I’ve been listening to Overinvested since the start of the year (and have gone back to listen to some old episodes), and the ones that have hooked me the most have been the episodes that go beyond the blockbusters — Velvet Goldmine, Snowpiercer, and even The Black Stallion episode was surprisingly enjoyable. Any film nerd like me will love this podcast. I like that they address the current popular movies like Captain Marvel and Us but also get randomly overinvested in things like The Road to El Dorado. Gavia and Morgan are insightful and satisfy my desire for deep analysis without taking things too seriously. I don’t agree with every opinion they offer but they present in a way that I can enjoy it anyway every time. If I could give one criticism it’s that the audio quality leaves a little be desired but I am willing to put that aside for the content. Can’t wait for the next episode.
Awesome
I've been slowly making my way through a few episodes after a friend recommended I listen to the American Gods episode (which was amazing, and hit every critique I had). I love it so far and would highly recommend it to anyone who loves nerd culture and indepth discussions covering a lot of topics related to what's being prestend that week.
