Selfies saved my marriage. I’m sure you just gave me the biggest eyeroll ever, but let me explain!
It’s my 14 year anniversary, we’re closing on our dream home, but looking back, we were having a really rough time 7 years ago. When we first met, I was constantly sending selfies and flirting with my husband, reminding him of what he was taking out on Friday night. As we got more “comfortable” and got into grownup life with kids and bills and all that, I had to keep reminding myself of why were even married and why I fell in love with him in the first place.
I somehow remembered how fun and flirty it was when we first met, and decided to start sending him selfies again. I started sending him little reminders that I was proud of him, that I was thinking of him, and that I loved and missed him during the day. And you know what? It was a game changer. We were playful again, affectionate again, spending time together again, and barely ever fighting anymore.
Our partners need to be reminded of why they’re special to us and selfies can give them that. Don’t let your pride get in the way and make you think they don’t want to see you!
