Why I've rebranded to The Kate Toon Show

Why I've rebranded to The Kate Toon Show

    Stepping outside of school hours
Hello, lovely listeners. I want to let you know about a bit of a change. This podcast is now the Kate Toon Show.
Yes, I've finally embraced having my own name in the title of my podcast.
Why? Because I'm a huge, egotistical beast. No, the reality is with so many different brands and books and stories to tell, I needed an overarching name for the show that allowed me to talk about all the various bits and bobs.
So what is the Kate Toon Show?
Well, I'm here to help you build a successful, profitable, and enjoyable business using smart, creative, simple digital marketing and business tactics. Now, whether that's creating passive income streams, juggling your real life with your business life, being a misfit or passing on smart marketing tips, I'm here to help.
In this next series, we'll be talking more about Six Figures While You Sleep, how to create automated digital passive income products, such as courses, memberships, masterminds, and digital downloads. But I also want to be able to talk about all the other things I love.
We can talk about whatever we want, but the whole goal of it is to show you different and interesting ways to build a brand that you love, that you're proud of, and that serves the life that you want to live. It may be slightly unconventional compared to other businessey typey, coachy, mentory people, but it's going to be my way and hopefully we'll have a giggle along the way.
There'll still be guests, there'll still be tips.
The Kate Toon Show is coming. Get your ear holes ready.

SFISH: Keeping burnout at bay with Laetitia Andrac (Chat)

SFISH: Keeping burnout at bay with Laetitia Andrac (Chat)

Six Figures In School Hours Episode:
Like most parents who run a business, I often feel utterly overwhelmed. I struggle with competing priorities, and in the past, I’ve pushed myself way too hard.
I shared my story of near burnout in the book, and I’ve talked about it on the podcast before. I didn’t fully reach burnout but I definitely saw rock bottom.
Sometimes you have to amp up the self-care, adjust your working habits, or change tracks altogether.
Today’s guest not only came back from burnout, but now coaches other small business owners on how to recognise the signs and avoid it.
    Tune in to learn:
How Laetitia dealt with her burnout, and the life changes she made as a result
Why she moved away from her managerial position to start building her own business.
How to prevent yourself from burning out with micro-moments
How Laetitia uses public accountability and the Pomodoro technique to be more productive
Why Laetitia is driven by three key values: empowering women, sustainability and giving back to community.

SFISH: Toon Update: Podcast on pause

Six Figures in School Hours Episode:
Hello, I just want to explain that we're going to be taking a little bit of a break on the podcast, probably about a month or so.
This is sadly because I've had some bad news from home and I need to return to the UK and spend some time with my family. So I hope you can bear with me while I get through this difficult time.
We will be back later in the year with more great episodes.
Thanks for listening. I wish you all well. Thank you.

The pep talk I didn’t know I needed!

Thankyou Kate for this incredibly honest podcast and for your recent fantastic book. I run a 6 figure accounting practise as a sole practitioner in regional Victoria and stumbled across your podcast whilst taking a break from the desk to fold washing. I have 2 small children and I’ve been in business for almost 6 years now and though my business has exceeded my expectations, not unlike my parenting I am always second guessing if I am doing enough or could be doing more. The constant pressure I have put on myself working incredibly long hours and nearing exhaustion at times has been my biggest challenge. Accountants in general are very focused on productivity and I’m always looking for ways to improve this. I’ve listened to many podcasts and read many books on how to be more productive in business with children (including getting up at 5am and all of the supposed ‘productivity hacks’ known to man to work around my kids). But all my constant trying to do more and be better and bigger has often left me feeling exhausted, frustrated and falling out of love with my business. Reading your book was truly a penny drop moment for me and you spoke the words I’d been desperately needing to hear. It just makes sense. Your book is filled with a no bs* very straightforward advise but more importantly for the first time it made me personally realise that I’m actually doing enough…. More than enough. In a world that is telling us all to do and be more more more, where we are constantly sold the idea that bigger is better (and I can assure you this is certainly not the case for many of the businesses I’ve worked with over my career) hearing your words felt like a gentle hand on the back acknowledging the real challenges (and joys of course) of running your own business whilst parenting. And armed with your book and an inner deep knowing I’ve ignored for years now, I gave myself permission to be proud of everything I’ve achieved…..Even if that meant diving into a bush in my neighbours backyard to take an important business call during Covid to hide from my children whom I was homeschooling! And I’ve decided to put on a temp and take that long awaited holiday with my family for 5 weeks in June. Running my own business has been amazing- both thrilling and very challenging at times. Thank you for making me remember what I’m doing it all for. And thankyou from my 2 precious humans as well….. as we make memories we’ll cherish forever. Love your work! X

Always so relevant!

I am always amazed at how spot on Kate’s podcasts are and ‘Six Figures in School Hours’ has done it again! So easy to listen to, digest and relate to (I feel like she’s somehow spying on me). Highly recommend!

A Must-Listen Parenting Podcast for Business Owners

Kates podcast is a nice mix of education and a bit of fun for parents in business. The episode with Tony was brilliant. What great parents and business owners you and Tony are. Tony sounds like a bit of legend and a really kind soul.
