Are you single, childfree, and tired of the stigma attached to your 'spinster' status? Are you actually having an awesome time, loving your life because of the freedoms afforded to you as a result of being alone and not having kids? Or are you not quite there yet? Either way, this is for you. This is the podcast where we're going to reclaim the word spinster, where we're going to redefine what the word means, and where we're going to reimagine the outdated narrative around spinsterhood. Because the truth - the big secret that no-one seems to realise or acknowledge - is that, actually, being a spinster rocks. This podcast will also look at the subject of personal growth and how, as spinsters, we have the luxury of being able to spend time becoming the people we truly want to be; the best versions of ourselves. Because, after all, isn't that what we all want?Every week I'll release either a 'solo' episode in which I'll ruminate on the many different aspects of being single and childfree - and why they get to be brilliant - such as holidaying alone, living alone, identity, finding your purpose, being an auntie, freedom, opportunity and much, much more; or an episode with an array of fantastic guests with whom I'll be having interesting, inspirational and insightful conversations around the same themes. Follow me on Instagram @spinsterhoodreimagined for inspiration and information about upcoming episodes. E-mail me at lucy@lucymeggeson.com

Minisode Ep.108 - My Best Advice

Send us a Text Message. On today's minisode, I'm sharing the best advice I can give to any single, childless woman. The long and short of it is that we're best served when we look inside of ourselves for the solutions to our problems. And while it might feel like the answers lie in something outside of ourselves, i.e. a boyfriend / girlfriend, or a baby, this isn't actually the case. Spinsterhood loud and clear!

Love the fact this podcast is shouting ‘Spinsterhood’ so boldly! Let’s not hide away under a rock ladies! I especially love the minisodes for the weekend Saturday morning walk when surrounded by a flock of parents and their kids shuffling off to the soccer. I think the interviews are getting better and better! Thanks Lucy for the opportunity to ‘meet’ so many awesome change makers.

A place to make you feel a bit happy

Yes us single childless spinsters do need a place to reflect about our lives and here is the place. I love Lucy’s enthusiasm about our circumstances as she is always uplifting . In my world none of my spinster friends are happy with how our lives turned out so it’s always nice to listen to a positive spin on being childless and single in middle age .

Honest authentic perspectives

I got into this podcast a couple of months ago due to the fact that I’m a childfree by choice ‘single at heart’ woman even though I’m engaged ironically 😊 I love Lucy’s soft voice and British accent, her stories remind me of my time as an expatriate in the UK 10 years ago. I love the authenticity and candor in her content, the range of topics she speaks about, the diverse guests she interviews (hoping to be one of them soon) and the golden words of wisdom and life lessons she shares. I feel less alone in the world due to the community she has created through this podcast. Love your work !
