    STRIKhER - SSFA Bosco Coach Chris Bryden

    Today marks Bosco's First Women's Premier League Home Game against the Miranda Magpies. In 1972, two men talking together over a back fence shared a vision, of the St John Bosco Youth Boys’ Club, as it was known then, having its own soccer club. These men were Len Parker and Colin Laver. Their conversation led to the first meeting that was held with people interested in setting up a Soccer Sub-Committee. In this episode you'll here our host Laura break down the plays, moves and training tips for this top tier level of player.  With a long history of coaching, Chris unassumingly shares his passion and commitment, his loyalty and experience in the game.  This is Bosco's first year in the Women's League.     In this episode Vice President Laura Cowell is talking with Brodie M, also known as Muno and Captain of Gymea United 1. The team has a successful history. Making the Grand Final of the first year of the PLW competition in 2022 only loosing to a penalty shoot out.  Brodie started her Football career at the age of 5.  With seasons developing in clubs, the SSFA comps and St George Comps, Brodie returned with the allure of the new Premier League Womens comp.  Brodie shares her disappointment and dealing with the loss of Grand Final, how Coaching junior women inspires her and how she would coach a boys team. Brodie's passion for the game, for the players to have fun and supporters to enjoy themselves on game day, is at the heart of her commitment amongst the other elements of her life. Find out what the night before a big game looks like and her secret weapon when it comes to sizing up the opposition. She shares how the skills in playing soccer have helped her in work and the community.     SSFA Bonnet Bay and Premier League Womens Manager Carla Richardson

    Carla has not only stepped onto the field as a player and coach since her son was in under 6's, she has stepped effortlessly into the role of Premier League Womens Manager role.  The leadership, co-ordination and organisational efforts of Carla has seen the growth of competition and together with the Association members Sutherland Shire Football (SSFA) have paved a new path for young girls wanting to find their professional football feet.  Carla shares her wisdom and personal motivation about her involvement with grass roots football whilst reflecting on the impact it has had on her and the family that she raised in the local area.    'Changing the name to Premier League and changing the times of the games - creates pathways and opportunities to watch and play'. - Carla 'Positive Discrimination' is encouraged, allows us to see women in high level decision making roles will shape the game.     Rare Disease Day - FD MAS with Founder Laura Cowell

    Rare Disease Day 28 February 2023. Over 300 Million people have been diagnosed with a rare disease. Some go for decades, frustrated with no diagnosis, misdiagnosis or confusion, not knowing what is going on inside their body.  In this episode we speak to the Founder of FD-MAS Australia, Laura Cowell who has recently launched her charity to raise awareness and partnered with Rare Voices for Rare Disease Day, to provide support and healthcare pathways for those living with a rare disease.  Whilst some are debilitating, Laura shares how she, herself found awareness and coping strategies, to live a full life and provides advice to those who may be supporting someone with a rare disease.  Don't treat them differently.     The waves of change just keep coming with Nicole WATTS from NSW Maritime

    I'm going to preface this episode with a warning: This woman is unstoppable and together with her team and tenacity have brought you the changes and customer experiences that NSW has seen in government over the last few years.  Nicole Watts, Director of NSW Maritime, has her feet firmly in the waters, looking to the future of our shoreline. With her extensive career in leadership and change management, a young family and charisma, you can't help but be inspired.  Nicole thrives on getting it better, not just right. She has overseen the customer service journey at Service NSW, spent a year with Apple Australia and travelled extensively on her days off from her roles at Qantas during the pandemic, taking and making opportunities. This interview was awe inspiring for me, demonstrating the transition of skills and ability into Marine Industry she inadvertently started in whilst working on Cruise Ships during her early life.
