Ted Richards - Six Park Online Financial Advice Shares for Beginners

    • Investing

Ted was a guest on one of my first episodes. I wanted to chat again. In these days of DIY investing it's easy to forget that financial advice is now within the reach of smaller investors. It may not be the cheapest option but it could fast-track your investing knowledge. We discussed this in the context of recent market mania about meme stocks and "stonks".
Episode Blog Post: https://www.sharesforbeginners.com/blog/ted
"Stonks are popular companies that are mostly traded by retail investors, not institutional investors. They're often companies that you and I may use a lot. They get these huge share price increases, and often without any fundamental business catalyst behind why the share price is spiked so sometimes they're referred to meme stocks, even story stocks. And there's a lot of money, that has been flooding into these and to be honest, I think a lot of the biggest reason for it is a bit of FOMO, you know, their brands or people understand share prices going up. So people fight into it and the likes of Elon Musk and Dave Portnoy have been tweeting specifically about the word stonks and that's even fueled this even more and kind of made this investing approach and I use the word investing approach loosely."
