A Catch Conversation with Hannah Buchanan
Hannah Buchanan is Pastor to Adults at Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas. Hannah graduated from Wheaton College in 2009 with a major in Economics and a minor in Biblical Studies. Her passion was theology; and while her professors nudged her in that direction, she overlooked the call. Upon graduating, Hannah joined Teach For America to make a difference. She taught Special Education on the South Side of Chicago and left the classroom to coach other teachers in the district. Not convinced education was the solution to the Big Problems of Life, Hannah went to graduate school for a Masters of Social Work. In order to pay for graduate school, she took a job as an Executive Assistant at a local church in Dallas. Two years later, Hannah rose through the ranks into a pastoral role at one of the largest churches in Dallas where she preaches, leads and establishes creative vision for the church overall.
