The Christology Podcast: Jesus at the Center began to answer the question Jesus often asked and everyone around him disputed - "Who do you say that I am?" We want to challenge listeners to deeply consider this question, and its implications. Dave Nielsen (host), retired army Ranger and Delta Force Operator, featured in HBO's "War Dogs: A Soldier's Best Friend" and occasional Hollywood Military Consultant graduated with honors with a degree in theology from Regent University, where he then completed two years toward his Mdiv with a focus in biblical languages. Dave took a break to spend more time with his wife and kids, and to coach local High School and youth football as a heart and mind consultant, always coming back to "The Question" - who is Jesus.
Laura (Miller) Nielsen, Dave's wife and longtime friend, also retired from the army completing 26 years! The last nine of those years were with the Unit as well, where she was the vet tech. Laura and Dave's stories are intertwined, they've shared every day together for nearly ten years. For a time they lived on a sailboat named "War Story" and enjoyed fishing in the Atlantic. God spoke through his word and Laura has her own unique story of coming to know Jesus. She is a wonderful step-mother to three, teaches pre-school full time, and earned a masters degree in business management. She has served several years on her church council, recently as chairperson, as well as several committees.

Total Parachute Malfunction: The Peter Prayer
Laura interviews Dave about a horseshoe malfunction on a HAHO jump: High Altitude High Opening. What is the normal human response when faced with an emergency, what do we say? "Oh God!" "Jesus". Why? This episode discusses that built-in response, as always with an interesting "there I was" story. God is always there; we ought to make every effort to know him.

Faith of a Delta Force Commander: An Interview with Jeff Tiegs
Dear friend, retired Lieutenant Colonel and author of "Where Have All the Heroes Gone?" Jeff Tiegs talks about his career spanning from the Rangers seeing combat in the 80's, and all the way through the "unwinnable wars" of recent history. Now with Skull Games, Jeff continues to boldly hunt and confront the pure evil which is human sex trafficking.
How does a Christian deal with war? Like anything else, takes it in prayer before his Lord, Jesus, and receives direction. Faith must move and this Dude among dudes really, really moves his faith!

Moral Courage is Real Courage
Laura and Dave reflect on the Jason Kelce retirement, the Taylor Swift effect, football being "life compressed", and the "v" word - vulnerability.

A Day in the Life: Talking about TBI
Laura recently suffered a severe concussion. Treatment is ongoing and we are not sure of the presence or extent of TBI; however, she has been experiencing symptoms exactly like I did and do during and long after the wars. Many MANY can relate to this - the explosions in confined spaces we ate, year after year after year. It's a shame but God is on his throne!

Face the Tank!
Dave and Laura give on overview of the series "Face the Tank" - based on an actual combat mission, what seemed like a boring journal entry has over the years become a metaphor applied to facing our fears in life.
