In this episode, Ted sits down with Dr. Charles Helm from Tumbler Ridge.
Dr. Helm is quite literally a trailblazer. He came to the Peace country in the 1980s. He co-founded one of BC's most popular races. He's helped to create and clear some of the most popular hiking trails in Tumbler Ridge, and he's helped bring the world's attention to a simply wonderful pocket of BC through his work with the Tumbler Ridge Museum and the Tumbler Ridge Global Geo Park. He is also blazingly fast when you try and catch up with him and running behind him.

Our next guests, plural, are people well, who’ve been part of the community for as long as I can remember. Quite selfishly, I remember wanting to be these two people. I remember taking my dogs to them, well, my parents, taking my dogs to them, and having these two people answer questions about my dog, take care of the dog, and ultimately, help me through the grief of losing my dog. These people are special: they travel all over the Peace to make sure that herds are healthy, that animals are taken care of, and that the community can thrive. They educate, they heal, they support; and, they’re just all-around good people to know. Welcome to my next guests, Dr. Corinne and Dr. Perry Spitzer!

Our next guest is quite special for numerous reasons. For one, she was the president of the North Peace Filcan Association for numerous years, helping to create and foster a sense of welcome, and safety for new and not-so-new Filipino Canadians who had moved to Fort St. John.
For two, it was a lot of fun because she actually does what Ted does in this podcast- she finds amazing people, and she sits down with them. She has wonderful and illuminating conversations, so our host was excited to get the chance to ask her some things!
