Lessons on investing and success with investment banking legend Ken Moelis

This episode features a rare and in-depth conversation with Wall Street icon Ken Moelis who discusses his predictions for the US election and the state of the economy.

Ken is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Moelis & Company and has built a global firm valued at almost $US4.0 billion in just 15 years.

During his earlier banking career, he advised some of the most famous figures in US business, including Donald Trump, Las Vegas pioneer Steve Wynn and CNN founder Ted Turner.

In a discussion with Andrew Pridham AO, Ken shares his insights and experience on: secrets to long term success, negotiations, winning business in competitive markets, and how he prioritises tasks.

Ken also talks about tech disruption, explaining how influencers are challenging the status quo of global brands and rapidly grabbing their own market share. Additionally, he explores the impact of new weight loss drugs on consumer behaviour, comparing it to the significance of the development of the iPhone.

Insightful and motivating for graduates

I look forward to every episode, always filled with interesting discussion between Adam and Andrew. As an undergraduate who is pursuing a career in IB, I have found it hard to find such honest contemplation from strong leaders in banking. Banking can appear somewhat covert, but Andrew’s personal insights give it the human element that I have been wanting. I can’t wait to get a taste for the MA Academy over summer. In the meantime, easy listening and thorough reading of the eBook!

The key elements to succeed in Business, Sport & Life

Great insights on how to be a leader and set high standards for yourself and others around you. To achieve successes in sport, business and life are surprisingly similar and Andrew does this himself with honesty and humility.
