#188 - Frew & Team Fantomen Artist Anthony Spay

Anthony Spay's first story appeared in the 2019 Fantomen Christmas album and in no time he has seven completed stories to his credit. In this episode Mikael Lyck joins Jermayn Parker as we go over each of his stories and learn interesting things about Anthony like how he got the job at both Frew and Fantomen.  Anthony is one of two artists you have created new stories for both publishers - the other is Joan Boix. Is there anyone else we have missed? Anthony Spay before his work for Fantomen and Frew has credits for Zenoscope Entertainment, Marvel and DC. If you would like to keep track of his work we recommend visiting his Instagram social media profile. As always the video will show slides, art examples and props as we discuss the Phantom. #186 - Moonstone & Team Fantomen Writer Ben Raab

#186 - Moonstone & Team Fantomen Writer Ben Raab

We are joined by past Phantom Team Fantomen & Moonstone writer, Ben Raab who wrote 23 Phantom stories over a decade between 1999 and 2009. Some of his stories include the popular "The Spear of Destiny" saga, "The Hero", "The Invisible Phantom" which won Norwegian best story in 2001, the first team we see Kit and Heloise as the joint 22nd Phantom in "The First Assignment" for Team Fantomen.  After Egmont he wrote several classic stories for Moonstone including the first two graphic novels "The Ghost Killer" and "The Singh Web" which was his adaption of the 1996 movie along with classic stories exploring the mythos of the Phantom in "Curse of the Phantom", "The Aviatrix" and "Legacy". Eager phans may know that Ben Raab has been making waves in Hollywood since with writing credits for "Warehouse 13", "Flash", "Arrow" and currently "Legacies". So obviously we end the podcast talking about how he would write a Phantom TV show series.  One of the questions we ask is could the Phantom exist being a hero in Africa in a TV show with a possible white saviour label being used against him? Ben also tells us how he would write a Phantom TV show. As always the video will show slides, art examples and props as we discuss the Phantom. #185B - March 2021 News

It may be only be a month since our last comics and news podcast but with 11 comics out around the world, Claes Reimerthi retiring, board and card games, wall banners plus much more news to discuss the podcast originally went for 3 hours so we decided to split it into two podcasts.  Hopefully it makes the podcast more palatable and enjoyable. This is episode 185B and where we focus on all the Phantom news from the last 5-6 weeks. There is a lot.  In X-Band: The Phantom Podcast Episode 185A Mikael Lyck our Swedish correspondent went into detail why Claes Reimerthi decision to retire is a big deal. #184 - Past Sunday Artist, Terry Beatty

We are joined by past Phantom Sunday artist, Terry Beatty who drew the Phantom in the KFS Sunday newspaper strip between the dates of January 29, 2012 and the last one on May 7, 2017. He drew 9 complete stories and 2 part stories including gems like "Mandrake's Bon Voyage", "Death Stalks the 5th Phantom" and "The Shadows of Rune Noble".  Terry is part of the exclusive club that both drew The Phantom and Batman, only the third credited artist to draw both the Phantom and Mandrake in a newspaper story and the last artist to draw the Phantom after legendary artist Fred Fredericks retired. This is a phun episode as we go through Terry's career including his Australian trip as a guest of the Australian chapter of the LFMBEC. ☠️The ghost who walks☠️

X band Phantom podcast talks about the best comic on the market today. I was overjoyed when I found out that there was a podcast that focused on a fantastic topic. As time goes on I have learnt more and more in the phantoms expanded universe. The x band crew interview famous and nearly famous phantom people. My favourite episode was when they interviewed Shane Foley. I learnt heaps and got to know more about him. The efforts by The x band crew are very nice trying to expand the knowledge of poor unfortunate souls who cannot get the inside scoop. This podcast has helped re-enforce my knowledge and love of the phantom.
I now know that they also are behind Chronicle Chamber. A really well made informative phantom website.
Thanks for creating x band so that a phan can learn of the phantom. ☠️

PS, I just noticed in Kid Phantom number 5 page 31
Third panel, that X band has been written on a journalist’s notepad. Only X:BA is seen but when Paul Mason would have been drawing the full panel the whole title would have been visible.

Love listening to the lads talking about the PHANTOM bringing us great reviews and interviews with Phantom Legends from all over. Keep up the great work. Best Podcast ever.

Phantastic pod

The best podcast you’ll ever hear simultaneously recorded from a 3 year old’s bedroom and the back of a car parked in a garage. More uses of the word “youse” than any other pod online. 5 stars, essential listening for any phantom Pham.
