Third Culture Kid Lost in the Midwest

Been MIA the last three months because work is hectic #FulfillingCareerGoal so I just got off the phone with a friend where one of the conversation topics we talked about was losing a part of you after college and trying to find a community for you wherever you land and how difficult that has been Afiq I shared my challenges with losing who I am as an Asian American, so this episode just wanted to talk out loud with where I am at. I didn’t go into the same details that I shared with him but I just wanted to put where I’m at out here in case any of you guys are feeling that way too.

Book Series: Subtle art of not Giving a Fook

Book Series: Subtle art of not Giving a Fook

Took me 6 years and an audio book to finish this one. I can understand why a lot of people enjoy this book but personally, I probably would not recommend this book to anyone. I think this is a good book for introducing people to multiple different topics, but I know that there are other books at take a deeper dive into these topics with stronger and more concrete examples such as, but not limited to Think Again by Adam Grant and Essentialism by Greg McKeown. With that being said, I was able to capture common themes I saw from this book and a dozen other self help books I’ve read (41 in 2023) and share with you today

Identify Foreclosure: Are you limiting yourself?

Identify Foreclosure: Are you limiting yourself?

Having career aspirations is important but so is opening your mind up to other opportunities and not limit yourself if plans don’t align. After reading ch 11 in think again, escaping running vision, it made me take another moment to reflect on my career aspirations that I have for myself and if they still align with my present self today
