    In this episode, Joe is joined by David Pepper. David is a lawyer, writer, political activist, former elected official, and adjunct professor. He served as the Chairman of the Ohio Democratic Party between 2015 and 2021. As a lawyer, he engaged in extensive litigation regarding important issues in Ohio including voter suppression and unjust election laws. David has published four novels that bridge real-world politics and fiction. He just released “A Simple Choice,” which is a thriller that contains striking parallels to American politics. David continues to advocate for the people of Ohio while simultaneously writing and teaching law at the University of Cincinnati College of Law. In this episode, Joe and David discuss the process of writing a book and how David's different roles have impacted how he views political advocacy and strategy.

Throughout these years Keith has worked on two presidential campaigns, as well as being appointed to the position of Director of Intergovernmental Affairs before working as a speechwriter for the Office of the Secretary of Defence. He has also directed two films, "The Quality of Light" and "The Bigger Hammer." In his current role, Keith serves as the Vice President of Public Affairs for the Environmental Defense Fund. In this interview, Martín and Keith discuss how to use storytelling in political communications and tips for how groups can better communicate the impact that their organization makes.

    7 Questions with Daniel Hernández Jr.

    In this episode, Martín is joined by Daniel Hernández Jr. Daniel is a first-generation college student who interned for then-Congresswoman Gabby Giffords and was the first to administer first aid to her on the day of the tragic attack on her life. Inspired by Congresswoman Giffords' commitment to public service, he went on to be elected to his local school board and became the youngest school board president in the district's history. Starting in 2017, Daniel served in the Arizona State House as one of the youngest members ever elected. In his current role, he serves as the Associate Executive Director at Stand for Children in Arizona. In this episode, Martín and Daniel discuss his career path, commitment to public service, and how to advocate for yourself in office as a young elected official.
