The search for two missing Kansas women ended gruesomely April 14 in the Oklahoma Panhandle at the end of a two-day excavation of a possible burial site in a cow pasture. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation revealed in new court records that a chest freezer was found during the excavation and opened. Inside were the bodies of Veronica Butler and Jilian Kelley, who had been missing since March 30. The OSBI also revealed in the new court records that "personal items" were located in the hole after the bodies were removed. "These items did not belong to Butler or Kelley," an OSBI agent wrote. "This information was not released to the public."

The medical examiner arrived at the home later in the morning and NewsNation’s Laura Ingle saw very large evidence bags being carried out of the home. Breaking: Police execute new search warrant on Rex Heuermann's house.

New York State Police returned Monday to the Massapequa Park home of the suspect in the Gilgo Beach serial killings to execute a search warrant, according to the attorney for Rex Heuermann's ex-wife.

Heuermann, an architect, was arrested in July 2023 in connection to a string of murders and bodies found along Gilgo Beach on Long Island. He has been charged in the deaths of four women, including a Connecticut mother of two who vanished in 2007 and whose remains were found more than three years later along a coastal highway in New York.

"As District Attorney Tierney has previously stated, the work of the Gilgo Beach Homicide Task force is continuing," a spokesperson for the Suffolk County District Attorney's office said in a statement Monday. "We do not comment on investigative steps while ongoing."

Crime lab technicians could be seen in the front yard of the home on First Ave setting up a tent. A heavily police presence was spotted in the area by Chopper 4 and the street in front of the home was closed off. It was not immediately clear how long the search would last.

Mica Miller estate documents claim abuse, attempt to hide assets. Prior to her death, Mica was in the middle of divorce proceedings with her estranged husband, John-Paul Miller, who is a pastor at Solid Rock Church in The Market Common. According to an affidavit released to ABC15, Mica's sister, Sierra Francis applied to be the special administrator of Mica's estate on May 2, less than a week after her passing and four days before the Robeson County Medical Examiner announced her cause of death as suicide.
