People from all walks of life joined the movement, eager to exchange their surplus harvests and connect with like-minded individuals in their community. It wasn't just about trading fruits and vegetables; it was about building relationships, fostering a sense of camaraderie, and reducing food waste in the process.

However, like any good story, OC Food Swap encountered its fair share of obstacles along the way. Despite its initial success, unforeseen challenges arose, leading to the dissolution of the once-thriving community initiative. But as they say, when one door closes, another opens.

Fast forward to 2024, a time marked by global uncertainties and a growing awareness of food scarcity issues. Faced with these challenges and fueled by a desire to reignite the spirit of community and sustainability, OC Food Swap is making a comeback. With renewed energy and enthusiasm, the grassroots movement is being revitalized, ready to reclaim its position as the hub for garden swapping in Southern California.

Kevin grew up going to the same Highschool as Elon Musk while growing up in South Africa, and though destined for greatness he struggled staying out of trouble and got kicked out of high school 3 times. Eventually being brought to the states he earned a degree in fashion and spent most of his early years in the fashion industry. Eventually this lead him to connecting with Hollywood Studios which hired him in the post production industry for films like Jurassic Park and Indian Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Unfortunately 2008 hit him just like everyone else and he was laid off. So even though real-estate is doing horrible at the time he joins Keller Williams Reality and in 1 year does $551 Million in sales. Then he tries it on his own with out Keller Willams and is unsucsefull and the middle of all that he goes through a crazy divorce which leaves him depressed and living in a meth lab in Oregon. It was until he discovered the power of Hypnosis that he was able to pull himself through and now is the go to Hypnotherapist for many of today's Hollywood Stars.

I met Ray one crazy morning during the end of Covid. I was driving around looking for something to film and coming up empty, because most places were still closed or at least not ready to take customers in person again. His place located at 10300 Rush St, South El Monte, CA 91733 is a beautiful long building with Aztec and California culture painted in giant murals in front of the building. At that time it was only outdoor seating with long tables and plants surrounding the area. It's great to see how far he's gotten.
