S4 Ep7: The cost of doing nothing about EP price hike for Business Central Tecman Talks Dynamics

    • Technology

Everything you need to know about Enhancement Plans for on-premises customers
The latest price increase for Enhancement Plans (EPs) for Microsoft Dynamics on-premises products will take effect in the autumn and could end up costing your business more in the long run if you opt to do nothing.
Prices are set to rise in real terms by 6% from October 2024, whilst substantial discounts attached to moving to the cloud under the Bridge to the Cloud promotion are predicted to disappear at the close of the year. Moving from on-premises to the cloud is only one part of the story, as many on-premises systems (earlier than v22 for Dynamics 365 Business Central, or any version of Dynamics NAV) are now out of mainstream support and increasingly exposed to the risk of encountering software problems that can’t be fixed. It’s tempting to let your plan lapse, but there are potential pitfalls, from being unable to add items to your licence through to no longer having access to promotional prices for moving to SaaS. Doing nothing and absorbing the cost could seem like the easy option but planning ahead for your business is critical and the longer you delay decisions the higher the potential costs in time and money.
Tecman recognises that every business is different and that the finer details around licenses will vary. Start the conversation with your partner now about the best options for your business in the longer term.
