An absolute must for history fans

If you are in to history and podcasts this is the place for you. Robin combines a compelling story with an agreeable style to bring you a comprehensive History of the East-roman empire.
If you listened to Mike Duncan’s the History of Rome this show is an absolute must.

The best history podcast

It seemed impossible to best Mike’s Duncan history of Rome but Robin did just that. The history of Byzantium is moving, well researched, profound. It shows you history through multiple lenses, questioning your modern understanding to find out how people of the medieval Roman Empire really thought, lived, loved and fought. I cannot suggest it more

A worthy heir of Mike Duncan

The history Of Byzantium is a fantastic podcast, I am embarrased it has taken me at least 100 episodes to finally give it a revieuw.

Robin brings the Roman empire, that continued its existence for another 1000 years in the East, back to life. School history classes usually gloss over the history in a half hour, thanks to this podcast I have learned to appreciate the longevity of the empire. Robin further takes the time to discover different aspects of history ranging from politics to religion, economics and war. He offers perspectives on the life of emperors as well as the common man.

Please do yourself a favour and give this The History Of Byzantium a try.
