The Missing Found is an investigative true crime podcast that focuses on missing person cases in the Black community that are left unsolved and cold.

Statistically, African Americans receive far less media coverage than our White counterparts. According to The Black and Missing Foundation, in 2021, African Americans make up only 13% of the United States population, but our missing person percentage sits at 37%. It’s impossible to report on every case of a missing person in the country, but the divide between us and other races are severely disproportionate when it comes to media coverage.

To challenge this, we started The Missing Found podcast to bring light to cases deemed unsolved and cold to offer a renewed perspective with only the hard facts, breakdown every case detail, and the possibilities thereafter.

We thank you for your viewership. We look forward to conducting comprehensive analyses into the unsolved missing person cases of those who look like us.

Case Episode 24 | D'Wan Sims: A 30 Year Questionable Mystery, but There Is One Thing Missing

Case Episode 24 | D'Wan Sims: A 30 Year Questionable Mystery, but There Is One Thing Missing

On the cold afternoon of Sunday, December 11, 1994, in Livonia, Michigan, four year old D’Wan Sims was reported missing. D’Wan was accompanied by his mom on an afternoon outing at a local mall to do some shopping, but that outing turned grim when he just…seemingly vanished.
No trace of him was ever found. It even brought into question as to was he ever there. Law enforcement performed a heavy search in the mall and surrounding areas. Little D’Wan did receive coverage, but it just didn’t produce any positive or negative outcome. In fact, it left the community of Livonia in mystery and decades of uncertainty.
An innocent child, gone — just vanished. Like I always say, we know someone doesn’t just vanish.
When you look at the facts of the case, it makes you question everything. It makes you question the moments after D’Wan was reported, but it also makes you question what happened before to explain the oddities on the surveillance footage. You will soon see that it’s true that four year old D’Wan Sims was missing, and still is, but you will also see that there is something is missing, something off. There is a missing piece of the puzzle, or possibly a gap in the investigation. Not everything is always what it may seem. Someone knows something, and that someone — our most vital subject, most likely has the answer, but there’s a possibility, as dark as this may sound, that it was taken to the grave.

On the cold evening of Monday, December 30, 2019 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, just less than 48 hours into the new year of 2020 — the monumental year that has caused total transformation in our world — 22 year old Tonee Turner went missing in Pittsburgh on what seemed to be just an ordinary day during her from work to home trek.
Everyone saw her, they knew her, she was even in contact with family within hours to minutes of her going missing, then something happened and things went dark. Until later that evening, when her family was notified of an interesting and nearly groundbreaking discovery in the most odd location, that could have led to some answers, or just another element to throw things off — and we’ve seen that before. Initially, this was not a cause for concern, but later you will find there may have been something there.

Case Episode 22 | Davante Richardson: A Trip of Hopes, Dreams, and Bizarre Mystery

Case Episode 22 | Davante Richardson: A Trip of Hopes, Dreams, and Bizarre Mystery

On Thursday, July 23, 2020, somewhere along a nearly 2,000 mile road trip — that appeared to be a spur of the moment trip of hopes, dreams, and a what seems to be a puzzling mystery; 28 year old Davante Richardson left his home in Washington, DC to Wyoming to see a friend with what seemed to be a trip to pursue something or a meeting to gain some form of relationship.
We know he was in the process of building his business, he had the skill, and was set to go far in his newfound career choice — a talent that he had, but something went terribly wrong. The odd texts, the particular person he was alleged to have been attempting to go visit which is a renowned artist in today’s popular culture, the tweets, an unconfirmed witness statement of a mysterious woman at a gas station, and then everything suddenly went dark — all communication just stopped. Nothing.
Until just days later, his 2016 Jeep appeared in a remote location nearly 30 hours from his home in the nation’s capital, but only 12 miles from the artists property.
A case like this makes you question everything. Could there be a best kept secret that lies in the vast land of Greybull, Wyoming? Could something more sinister happened? A body can't hide itself. Either he walked away, or someone had a hand in this.

Case Episode 21 | Jennifer Joyce Barton: A Warning that Shouldn't Have Been Ignored

Case Episode 21 | Jennifer Joyce Barton: A Warning that Shouldn't Have Been Ignored

On Sunday, May 16, 1976, in Austin, Texas, 20-year old Jennifer Barton had left home to hang out with a friend to go to the movies. Jennifer spent what we now know as her last moments on record at a local bar. One minute she was there, and next she was gone, but there’s always more to the story.
Both friends seemingly never made it to the movie theater. After a quick stop at a local bar, with a friend, two men, a mysterious van, it ended in nearly 50 years of mystery and unanswered questions.
For decades, Jennifer’s case has gone unsolved without a trace. Some don’t think she ever left Austin, then some think she may have left to go to California. Some blame her lifestyle as the reason this case remains unsolved.
When you look at the details, there may have been some signs leading up to Jennifer’s disappearance. This vanishing of Jennifer may not have come by surprise. It appears she may have knew something was headed her way or harboring a secret.
What we don’t know is, was this disappearance executed at random or was it in connection of something she may have been involved in by means of retaliation?
