    S1.E4 What the FI?!

Financial independence takes two ingredients. Sustainable passive income, and expenses that don't exceed that income. So far we've talked about reducing all debt and eliminating large income-eaters, like student loans, transportation, and housing costs. This episode, we highlight our investment vehicles, and briefly describe our streams of passive income.

    S1.E2 Whose Money, Honey?

    S1.E2 Whose Money, Honey?

As a dual income married couple, we managed our money independently for five years before transitioning to a shared household approach. There were benefits to both, but treating our household dollars the same way business partners do leveled-up our earning power. Some are better at earning, some are better at managing, some are good (or terrible) at both. Assigning responsibilities doesn't have to an old school practice in gender-normative behaviors, but in all cases treating "this money as my money" won't do you any favors when it comes to wealth generation.

0:55 - Back when personal finance was taught in school
1:50 - "In those days" - Grandpa on household money management
2:40 - Breaking out of "this money is my money"
    5:20 - Rapid debt repayment
7:15 - Common goals align financial strategy
8:00 - Treat your household like a business
