Joshua recounts his experiences growing up in a conservative neighborhood in Arizona, exploring his identity at UCSD, and using media to give a positive stage to minority groups.

    Today we are interviewing Olivia and Morgan, two UCSD students who started the UCSD Sunshine for Seniors project last year to combat loneliness and bridge the gap between students and seniors through card-making and virtual discussion groups. Since this podcast interview, their card count has jumped to 920!

    Olivia and Morgan wanted to share a message with you: 

    "May is Older Americans Month! The theme this year is Communities of Strength – a fitting tribute after the shared hardship of the pandemic. We just wanted to share this as we think it is an important part of the message...We are so proud of the UC San Diego community and the strength we have seen as we have come together in the past year to support older Americans in San Diego! We are so lucky to be a part of such an amazing community and proud of all that we have accomplished in the past year."
