The power of hope, mental illness and suicide awareness with campaigner Jonny Benjamin MBE

Tab and Kate chat with Jonny Benjamin MBE, award winning mental health campaigner, film producer , public speaker, writer and vlogger. In 2014 he launched a social media campaign called ‘find Mike’ to search for a stranger that talked him out of taking his own life from a bridge in 2008. The purpose of the campaign was to raise awareness of suicide and mental illness. Jonny produced ‘The Stranger on the bridge’ the acclaimed C4 documentary, an uplifting account of what happened. In 2017 he was awarded an MBE for his services to mental health and suicide prevention. We have an honest and candid conversation about just being with someone who is struggling, listening and the power of hope and that there is away through. The simple things that anyone can do that make a huge difference. Kindness always finds a way. Jonny is currently raising £500k through crowdfunder with the charity, Beyond, which he founded, to help schools with the urgent mental health support that they need.
