Episode 6 - Interview with an Online Teacher
In this episode, we'll discuss how Shakopee is approaching the pandemic this year with our Shakopee IHD and Online programs. Then we'll hear from Jackie Yego, 8th Grade English teacher, who is teaching online this year. Finally, we'll share some tips on how to make your live video classes interactive with some tech tools and discuss ways to model the use of technology to help support students.
Tech Tools:
Padlet: A digital cork board for students to submit their ideas (potentially in an anonymous way). Lots of creative ways to use this tool!
Pear Deck: Display Google Slides and insert formative assessment questions.
Whiteboard.fi or Whiteboard.chat: Create a teacher whiteboard and give each student their own whiteboard that you can view on a dashboard.

We have Kara Osmundson, Shakopee Digital Learning Coach, giving us her take on how we can look on the bright side of this not-so-bright situation we find ourselves in. We'll examine the positive impact this situation has had on students, parents, teachers, and how we might see this being a catalyst for systemic change in our schools.
