Fist or Clam with Robert Naylor & Eoghan from How We Roll

Originally recorded in September 2019. Our guest is Eoghan from How We Roll podcast and this is essential listening for anyone thinking about starting either a) a podcast or b) role playing games. As well as the funny side of poor mic etiquette I get an insight in what it's like to be involved in creating a successful RPG podcast, including the feel-good highs as well as some of the challenges too. Eoghan and I speak about Call of Cthulhu and How We Roll's involvement with Wizards of the Coast and D&D Live. Of course there's randomness too, including the Rubberbandits and Eoghan's desire to swim the English channel.

How We Roll was the first podcast to get me hooked on Call of Cthulhu, so if you enjoy RPGs and/or podcasts, you have to check out their shows on their website. In particular, I'd suggest Black Water Creek, as a personal favourite.

Fist or Clam with Paul Macauley

Originally recorded in October 2019* - "A Masterclass in the creative process!" - Me, just now.

Paul Macauley sits in the Fist or Clam hot seat and delivers post-apocalyptic food for thought, while discussing the practicality and merits of a survivor society structured around arcade games. Then we get stuck into what it takes to be creative. Importantly, not in the grand and nebulous sense, but in the practical and real sense. We talk about what it takes to be creative on an everyday basis and chew on the all important "WHY?" too.

This was the first episode I've edited since our long hiatus, since COVID hit and I was required to relocate from Germany, back to the UK and re-listening to Paul's wise words really helped me personally, get out of my own creative slump. Whether you like to write stories or code I think you'll be able to take a lot from this conversation.

Be sure to check out Series 2 of Paul's podcast "Creative Loving Spirit" and view all the wonderful things he puts into this crazy world on his website www.paulmacauley.net.

Fist or Clam with Robert Naylor & Adventurers Wanted

Originally recorded October 2019. We are talking Dungeons and Dragons with Chloe from Adventurers Wanted. In particular, we are talking about bringing D&D to the live stage, in addition to their streaming efforts. This was an interesting dive into how to prepare for such a tall order and more importantly, how to engage and include audiences.

Fist or Clam with Robert Naylor & Big Potato Games

Originally Recorded in September 2019.  This episode's guests are Becky and Nat from Big Potato Games! Having been a big fan of the game Obama Llama it was a privileged to have them on. In this episode we dive into what it is like to work for a board game company and are also given the run down on their best selling games. Be warned, prolonged exposure to this episode might result in financial difficulties...

Check out all of the games from Big Potato Games here. I personally would recommend 'Don't Get Got', which has the power to turn any social event into the most hilarious and tense experience of all time.
