We continue to wonder whether our favorite book moments will ever see screen time as we pass the halfway point in the first season and continue to move through Lyra's world at breakneck pace. Opinions dujour: Dafne Keen's performance is about as peak-Lyra as we could ever hope for; we thought it would be a lot darker and snowier in the north; and the show makes two of its most suspect adaptation choices in the same episode.

Laura and Pete recap the fourth episode of the series, share first impressions of some of the new characters introduced this episode, and discuss some of the choices the show makes.
