Life With Comics Denver Nota

This is honestly an episode where I just speak my mind over why Doctor Doom is so awesome!  How this guy is nothing else but the personification of pure arrogance but he has the history to back it up. I go over some of his most amazing monologues and quotes and how there is a bit more to Doom himself.

So I go into the X-Men's origins in this one.  Who they are and what they get up to. I also discuss 2 of the most prominent of their characters, Magneto and Xavier and their comparisons to Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcom X. I then dive into the story by Chris Claremont, X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills!

Now in this first episode of a story series, we talk about Alex Ross' DC's World's Greatest Superheroes and to start off, I go into Superman's arc of this graphic novel. I recount the origins of Superman and layout the story of Superman: Peace On Earth and how it explains that Superman may be one of the most powerful of all heroes, he can't beat everything.

Everyone has seen Thor in the movies right?? Chris Hemsworth does a great job of being the Marvel God of Thunder, Thor's awesome, am I right???... So on this episode I talk about the Norse God of Thunder, his origins and differences from the Marvel version and the Mythological God of Thunder. I also get into a few points about Ragnarok in the Norse Myths and how the core reason to being able to lift Thor's hammer, Mjolnir and on top of that, I discuss what it means to be worthy.

The Mad Titan, Leader of the Black Order, THANOS. Everybody knows Thanos, I mean who doesn't like him... No one! In this episode I go into a deep dive of Thanos's origin story and how he became the insane being that we know today. I also go into how different the character of Thanos in the comics is compared to his MCU counterpart. Most importantly, I talk about how Thanos despite being this all powerful being, he's actually a slave to his own desire and how it can reflect in real life.

In Episode 2, I go over what comics are and how I see them. I talk about the types of comics and some of the influences from real life such as some X-Men characters being influenced by Martin Luther King Jr and Malcom X. I get into some memorable comics such as Saga, Iron Man: Demon in a Bottle, Watchmen and Snowbirds Don't Fly. I also get into some funny comics and how The Boys is an excellent example of this
