    EP 2: Video Games

    EP 2: Video Games

This month, Medium Roast hosts Ross and Carlos discuss an art medium they have experience in: Video Games. While this discussion differs from the regular presentation of art mediums unbeknownst to the hosts, they discuss the merit of video games as a form of artistic expression, and how the interactivity involved in many smaller game titles allows for the experience to be shared with audience members in a way that other art forms often find difficult.

The guest this month is Kaelan Brown, a multi-disciplinary artist, and our host’s roommate. We discuss games and contrast titles meant to be pure entertainment with those seeking to invoke more complex responses from the audience. Where do video games fit in the art world, and are they products of pure entertainment, or can this medium invoke more than that?
