Nightfall - Miyuki Okuyama (English version‪)‬ Museum Arnhem

    • Artes

Miyuki Okuyama: "After sunset I went into Arnhem like a nocturnal animal to catch images of the city. I hope that my photos give a different impression of Arnhem than the city we all know. "

Nightfall is a photographic exhibition by Museum Arnhem showing 14 impressions by photographer Miyuki Okuyama. She has photographed Arnhem over these past few peculiar months: without human traffic and in exceptional stillness. Time is experienced differently in an empty, quiet city like this.

Miyuki Okuyama (Yamagata, Japan) has been living in Arnhem for years. She captures the world in mostly black and white images using analog techniques. The relationship between identity and environment takes center stage in her work.

In this podcast Dennis Gaens talks to Miyuki Okuyama about her process and her work. For more information, visit www.museumarnhem.nl
