Nick Lanari (vocals) and Noah Rabe (guitar) of Summer Years join Stefan Aronsen to talk about the band's influences, favorite venues to play, talk about some tour horror stories, and share what’s to come for the band in 2022.

Despite only having a handful of songs to their name, they’re already showing themselves capable of making great music, with tunes like This Light, and The Picture You Paint, both real earworms that capture the spirit of late-90s pop-punk, and tell you that Summer Years is here to stay.

Season three and 2021 went by super fast and I didn't produce as many podcast episodes as I had planned. So in 2022, we're going to make up for this by releasing lots of 15-minute episodes. We've learned that people prefer short-form content over long 1hr episodes. I will continue to create quick witty interviews with a large variety of indie musicians. Flynt Flossy has accomplished so much during the course of his career that you’d be forgiven to think he's been around for longer than 12 years. Having already under his belt his own record label, two solo albums, a handful of viral hits, a podcast, collaborations with the likes of Childish Gambino and Flula, and most recently his own self-help book, Turn Life's Lemons into Lemonade.

North Bay friends YngSolomon and The7thLetter like to party on the beach. In fact, their parties on Ocean Beach are legendary and their love of the west coast is evident. Instantly hooked, I searched them out on YouTube, then invited them to be on the podcast.

BIO: The Collective Conscious, featuring YngSolomon & The 7thLetter is a California-based conscious Hip-Hop duo, heavily influenced by the Nichiren Buddhist philosophy of personal empowerment and love. Joshua McClain and Dylan Charles Germick of Planet Booty are friends, in fact, Dylan suggested I have Josh on my podcast. Not because Josh makes body-positive, pro-sex, dance music for your ass cheeks, because he doesn't. Josh was recommended because he's F'n good musician whose popularity grew drastically due to his weekly Morning Cello streams during this Covid Pandemic. He provides the entertainment we all need during the shelter at home fiasco. 

BIO: Joshua is a renowned contemporary cellist, composer, artist, and filmmaker based in Oakland, CA. He is best known for his unbridled style of cello playing which, using a looping pedal and effects processor, creates intense, otherworldly soundscapes.
