DJ RUSS RICH (SFO)

Russ Rich is one of San Francisco’s most versatile DJs. Early on in his DJ career, he became known for his happy and uplifting vocal style. After several years spinning local bars and T-Dances, he graduated to headliner status, playing peak time sets at clubs like “Industry” at Mighty, “Hero” at Ruby Skye, and “Colossus” at 1015 Folsom. In 2011, Russ won “San Francisco’s Next Top DJ” competition, and in 2013, he won a nationwide contest for Gay Internet Radio Live. That same year, Russ was named Resident DJ for PLAY T-Dance, held annually following the Up Your Alley Street Fair. Recently, Russ began producing remixes of Coldplay, Katy Perry, Ellie Goulding, Demi Lovato, Peyton, 7th Heaven and Carlos Gallardo. His original collaboration with DJ Phil B (“Insane”) became a #1 hit on Dance World Radio. This summer, Russ will release his first collaboration with DJ Philip Grasso, a cover of Freemasons "Love on My Mind" featuring Debby Holiday and Leo Frappier.

Growing up in rural Nebraska tends to make one’s musical interest lean a certain way. But even at a young age, Byron knew there was more to music than what he heard on the local country western radio stations. It was in junior high that Byron DJ’d his first dance with his cousin. Even then his eclectic taste in music came out (Star Wars Theme by Meco anyone?).

After moving to San Francisco, Byron stated taking in the sights and sounds of such parties as MASS and CLUB UNIVERSE, all having a huge impact on him. Byron has developed the philosophy of keep the crowd moving and make sure they leave with a smile. His mix of equal parts upbeat house, anthems, and progressive sounds (with a splash of disco and trance) has earned him a faithful following.

"If you don’t leave with a smile on your face and maybe a little sweaty, I haven’t done my job.” There is nothing better than leaving a club thinking “that was fun!” Byron wants you to think that same way. “Just come in, dance your ass off for a few hours and have a memorable time. Drop off your worries at the door. They'll be waiting for you when you leave. Until then, you belong to me!”

Since it’s launch in 2001, PLAY T-Dance has become notorious for its unique and engaging themes, abundant hospitality, unrivaled production values and the most uplifting and energetic t-dance music on left coast. Thousands of men (and even some women) have flirted, frolicked and danced to their favorite t-dance tunes, spun by world-class DJ talent including Susan Morabito, Paul Goodyear, Joe Gauthreaux, John LePage, Lydia Prim, David Knapp, Andy Almighty, Ted Eiel, Rob Kaftan, Warren Gluck, Reed McGowan and Pete Savas. Getting dressed up for one of PLAY T-Dances themes is one of thee most anticipated local rituals with popular themes like Glow Party, Sports Gear, Pajama Party, Fire Island, Pig Party, Prison, Camp PLAY Military, and USS PLAY Navy/Sailor. The hospitality at PLAY T-Dance, unsurpassed by any event, includes a huge fruit, candy and gum table, massage therapists, greeters and hosts, as well as mouthwash and sterile hand wash in the bathrooms. Even after 10 years PLAY T-Dance continues to grow in popularity and Past Curfew is committed to taking steps to continue to build on its legacy.

In July of 2011, with the help of Two Knights Event, PLAY T-Dance premiered in Seattle with Northwest favorite, John LePage. Look for PLAY T-Dance to return to Seattle soon.

DJ Steve Sherwood first began listening to electronic music in the late 90's when his younger sister unknowingly left a cassette tape with a live set by Carl Cox on the floor of his car. He quickly fell for the harder side of dance music and became a regular at underground raves held in the Arizona desert. In the summer of 2000, he moved to San Francisco and was transformed by the diverse local dance scene, which includes parties like Universe, Pleasuredome, Mass, Fag Fridays, and Trannyshack. After a year of immersing himself in San Francisco's vibrant nightlife Steve bought a pair of Technics turntables off of Craigslist and began crafting his own unique sound that incorporates elements of vocal, disco, tribal, and progressive house with occasional forays into techno and trance.

A decade later he finds himself bringing his signature sound to a diverse set of parties around the globe. Recent appearances include REAL BAD XXIII, Tonker London, Industry, Disco Cherry, PLAY T-Dance, Los Angeles Pride, REACH Pride T-Dance, and Gus Presents. Sherwood is also a resident DJ with Bearracuda in San Francisco and has travelled with the party to Vancouver, Los Angeles, and Austin.

Wayne made his dj'ing debut at London's infamous Red Heart party in April 1996, performing alongside Grace Jones to a dancefloor of 3,000. However, it was his residence at London's world's famous Heaven nightclub that made Wayne a household name. Wayne has gone on to play huge festivals all over the world including Sydney Mardi Gras, Sydney Harbour Party, Sydney Gay Games, Berlin Love Parade, World Pride,the Adventjah Festival, Folsom St Fair, Fantasis in Bangkok, White Party Palm Springs, Winter Party Miami, White Party Miami, WinterPride, Provincetown independence, Hell & Heaven Brazil, San Diego Zoo Party, and the prestigious Fire Island Pines Party & Independence Day Party.

Wayne G’s production and remixing skills have been much in demand, his credits include remixes of tracks by Cher, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Kylie Minogue, Christina Aguliera, Celine Dion, Backstreet Boys, Deborah Cox, Whitney Houston, Darren Hayes, Erasure, Jerry Springer The Opera, Kelis, Alexis Jordan, Olive, Holly Johnson, Jimmy Somerville, Belinda Carlisle, to name a few. His recent productions have seen his output on labels as diverse as Fierce Angel, Hed Kandi, Flawless Recordings, Tommy Boy, Centaur and Almighty Records. Artists as diverse as 2010 Tony Award Winner ‘Levi Kries’ on his single ‘Be Alright’, Darren Hayes producing a future B side of the classic ‘Love Hangover’, Dolly Partons classic ‘Peace Train’ to current R&B sensation Alexis Jordan, turning her chart hit ‘Happiness’ into a US Billboard hit.

Averse to categorization in any one particular musical style, Wayne takes crowd on a musical journey starting with house, anthemic vocal house and the sound he created for Heaven's dance floor, bringing the energy, percussive beats and the uplifting infection riffs seamlessly together to create a melodic high energy journey. His sets are notorious for being filled with his own productions, many of which remain unheard unless you get to experience on of his marathon sets.
