Hi Friends,  I decided to share my districts school plan for the 2020 school year, my opinions, and goals/changes I plan on making in my classroom when we reopen schools.   

I am only sharing my own personal opinions, I am not speaking for any other teachers out there. And I am constantly going back and forth about how I feel about it. I also strongly feel it is a case by case, district by district thing. 

Everyones opinion deserves to be heard and valued!  

This is just mine.   

I am so sorry for those of you who are struggling during this time, physical health, mental/emotional health, financial, those of you who are essential workers during this time, and those of you who have lost any loved ones.  My heart truly goes out to you!  If you would like to skip my opinion piece, I get into all the changes and plans for my classroom at 4:46!

As a new teacher we dream about our first day of school, meeting out little kiddos for the first time, the ice breakers and games we will play, the pictures we'll draw... then reality kicks down the door and its just you and 27 hyper/crying 6 year olds... 

Let me just start off my saying my 1st year of teaching was not a walk in the park, so neither was the first day! I had never student taught and only substitute taught for mayyyybe 5 days... needless to say, I had NO IDEA what I was doing and what I was walking into!

Becoming a credentialed teacher in the state of California is like jumping through a bunch of flaming hoops while riding a unicycle and balancing an apple on your head. And to be honest, I never really knew when I would officially be done because it was so hard to find straight forward answers! So today I am spilling the tea and telling you everything you need to know, what to expect, what not to waste your time on, tests, expenses, and tips on how to become a fully Credentialed Teacher!
