This month I chatted with affable Billy Bingham, superstar library patron and comics aficionado, about about the critically acclaimed Daredevil: Yellow by Jeeps Loeb and Tim Sale. This book is a retrospective origin story for the man without fear and surely the basis for the first season of the Netflix series now streaming on Disney+. This creative team has produced Eisner and Harvey award winning funny books for over a decade, including titles like Batman: The Long Halloween, Spiderman: Blue, and Captain America: White. It's a new year and new format for Your Friendly Neighborhood Comics Podcast. This month I spoke with the venerable Greg Thompson of Local Heroes Comics (in my opinion, the best comic shop within the Seven Cities) about one of his favorite comics, 100 Bullets, as well as the old Vertigo Comics imprint. 100 Bullets is a gritty, neo-noir thrill ride through the criminal underbelly of the modern world. The winner of multiple Eisner and Harvey awards, this comic is a must read for fans Ed Brubaker, The Wire, The Department of Truth, and crime fiction in general.
