In today's episode, I share how I went from having an unsustainable and obsessive relationship with the gym and food, to finding balance and not letting food or exercise control my life. For many years I struggled as I fell deeper and deeper into diet culture and what I thought was a "healthy lifestyle". I finally let go of all of those things which made a drastic change in the quality of my life. After sharing my story, I break down 9 tips that I recommend to anyone who is on their own health journey! 



1:26 - start of fitness journey as a high schooler/introduced to nutrition, calorie counting, things normalized in the gym world

4:34 - this lifestyle is not sustainable 

7:07 - restricting -> binging -> gaining weight

10:03 - gut issues (bloating, stomach pain, indigestion) 

13:10 - breaking up with the food scale & my fitness pal in college

16:10 - tip #1 if counting calories is taking over your life...CUT IT OUT!!

16:53 - tip #2 focus your energy on other things

17:30 - tip #3 the more you can do to shift your mindset, the better of you'll be
