42. Important Small Business Legal Tips from Alli Elmunzer Into The Wild

    • Entrepreneurship

Hey you wild women!
Alli Elmunzer is an attorney, entrepreneur, and podcast host, whose mission is to legally empower entrepreneurs to protect their businesses so they can confidently grow them.
As a driven attorney and entrepreneur who has grown multiple businesses over the past 14 years, she's successfully navigated the unpredictable world of law and entrepreneurship.
She started her first company in 2009 while working as an attorney. After successfully growing that company and subsequently launching another, she eventually started her virtual law firm, Influencer Legal after seeing the profound need from other small business owners for legal guidance, education, and access.
Alli is passionate about helping entrepreneurs build successful and legally protected businesses.  She does that through her podcast, the Inspired Entrepreneur, as well as on her blog, and through Instagram where she hosts a community of almost 10K followers.
In this episode you will learn about:
“If you can dream it, you can do it” Walt Disney Not knowing where to start is a common rookie problem There are other ways of doing business. You don't have to do what everyone else is doing. Do things that are in alignment with you. Give yourself permission to do what you love. Mistake 1:  Not filing as an LLC or corporation. Mistake 2: Doing business without a contract. Mistake 3: Not doing a trademark and protecting your brand name. Contracts are a guide book for you and the other party. Don’t create an LLC if it’s only a hobby. We need to normalize that contracts are the way we do business. Three first steps to starting a business: 1. Go to government website and search to make sure that your name isn’t already in use or registered 2. Always get a contract in place 3. Your website must have a privacy policy as it is required in the USA. Block time to be productive: client blocks, content blocks, CEO blocks, learning block. Public Shoutouts:
