#7- Jason Dorland- "Healthy Competition Fuel‪"‬ The 6AM Mindset Podcast

    • Self-Improvement

Today's guest has an incredible story that we can all learn from. Jason Dorland was a part of Team Canadas Rowing team in the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Team Canada were the favorites coming in, because they had won gold previously in the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles. An unhealthy mindset and the sheer pressure to defend gold got to Jason’s team and they placed last in their finals. This threw Jason into a deep 6 year battle with depression... Adding to Jason’s emotional pain, Team Canada then won Gold again without him 4 years later in the  1992 Olympics in Barcelona, with several of the same crew members... Jason’s bout with depression and having to pick himself up has led him on a noble journey to help athletes, business people, coaches, and teachers the skills and healthy-mindset he wishes he had during those Olympics in 1988. He achieves this through his "Healthy High-Performance School” workshops and keynote speeches. Jason is now an author of two books, “Pulling Together” and “Chariots and Horses” which can be found on his website yourmindset.ca. The lessons here are deep and heartfelt, and I’m honored that Jason has offered his wisdom to help shape the 6AM Mindset.
