95. Boobs and the Customer Discovery Journey with Amy VanHaren Into The Wild

    • Entrepreneurship

Hey you wild women!
My next guest is a mother, writer, speaker, and the founder of  the community-driven breastfeeding and baby feeding support platform Pumpspotting.  This amazing platform connects and nourishes new parents both on their app and in-person throughout the entire postpartum journey to help families meet their feeding goals.
Amy VanHaren has built communities and led creative digital storytelling and marketing for over 20 years. She experienced deep isolation while trying to navigate working and breastfeeding and saw a better way to unite and empower all the nursing and pumping women of the world which led to her creating Pumpspotting.
Amy was also named a Forbes Next 1000 Entrepreneur, and awarded as a high-impact startup by MassChallenge.
If you’re passionate about breastfeeding support and working mothers, grab something to drink and join us in this episode to hear how Amy is making an impact!
In this episode you will learn about:
What inspired Amy to start Pumpspotting  Why breastfeeding support was the right choice for business  The customer discovery process  The value in making breastfeeding a part of the conversation in the workforce Listening to your ideal customers clients and needs How the business model evolved to work with employers Steps to get through the customer discovery process and idea validation Innovation vs invention
What it means to be a wild woman:
"Being a wild woman means to be unabashedly fearless, to boldly go forth towards what motivates you and moves you and to have enough faith that the universe will transpire in your favor to build the path before you. Just to be bold, put yourself out there literally in motion and go forth with what drives you."
