    Lion

This episode is late for the completely unavoidable reason that I didn't know what the date was. This is no-one's fault, except probably Joel's. Please listen to this episode about the movie Lion, in which we do our best to make up for the travesty that was our last episode. This one isn't (as) boring.

    And we're back

After absolutely no break in scheduling whatsoever, we're starting a new series. This second miniseries is looking at the nominees from 2017 (so films released in 2016 - why don't they just do the Oscars in December to stop this confusing mess?) and first on the docket is Hacksaw Ridge, Mel Gibson's return to direction after a 10-year hiatus. Join us as we chat about whether the film is any good (it's not), whether Mel Gibson is the worst (he is) and whether it's cause for celebration that he's back in our homes (it's not).

    Season 1 Wrap-up

    Season 1 Wrap-up

We've talked about all the films from the 1995 best picture category and yet we're still doing another episode this season and it absolutely was not a self-indulgent mistake, thank you very much.

If you don't want to listen to this (good instincts) the next season we'll be focusing on the 2017 Oscars slate, celebrating films released in 2016. The first film we'll be looking at is Mel Gibson's Desmond Doss biopic, Hacksaw Ridge.
