Annamie Paul & National Summits on Antisemitism and Islamophobia Fight Back with Libby Znaimer

Annamie Paul, leader of the Green Party of Canada, joins Libby Znaimer to reflect on what has arguably been the most challenging chapter of her political career. And, she tells us how the Green Party plans to fight a potential federal election in the coming months.

Later, Libby Znaimer is joined by Canadian Senator Salma Ataulahjan, Michal Schlesinger, Senior Human Rights Liaison at B'nai Brith Canada and Simon Granat, Senior Manager of Policy and Communications at The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA). Today, the Federal Liberals are hosting a National Summit on antisemitism. Tomorrow: they host one on Islamophobia. The move comes after a spike in hatred/racist incidents targeting both communities. Just last month, things turned deadly, when Nathaniel Veltman, a white, 22-year-old male ran over the Afzaal family in London Ontario, with a vehicle, killing four members. B'nai Brith says that as many as 2,610 antisemitic incidents were recorded last year. So, where do we go from here, and what do the leaders of both communities hope will be the outcome of these summits?

Finally, Libby Znaimer is joined by Doris Grinspun, CEO of the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario (RNAO). Together, they talk about the RNAO’s call to mandate the vaccination of all healthcare workers in the province and why nurses are “leaving in droves”
